Come out and help support minor lacrosse in the Calgary area with the celebration of Minor Lacrosse Night, hosted by the Jr A Raiders! On June 8th at Max Bell Arena, the Raiders will face off against league rivals, the Jr A Mounties. Let’s make this an exciting event, and bring together the lacrosse community. The evening will be filled with fun, prizes, food trucks, autographs and great lacrosse! Minor players get in free when they wear their 2018 club jerseys, and all other admission is $5.
After a very successful first year, the Calgary Roughnecks are excited to announce the return of the Jr. Roughnecks program for the 2018 summer.
New this year is the hosting of the inaugural Jr. Roughnecks Jamboree June 14-17 where the first tryout sessions for the Peewee, Bantam and Midget teams will be held on the turf at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The three Junior Roughnecks teams will compete at the 6th Annual Jr NLL tournament where they will be playing against other athletes representing teams from around the National Lacrosse League August 24 to 26 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Center in Oakville, Ontario.
Tryouts will continue through June, depending on the number of registrants in the program. The tryout fee of $75 includes four on-floor sessions; two sessions at the Scotiabank Saddledome during the jamboree, two sessions at a Calgary city rink, a Roughnecks pinnie, a Roughnecks dry fit shirt and a voucher for the Calgary Roughnecks 2018-19 season home opener. All players must pre-register and the tryout fee is non-refundable.
If player cannot make all these dates due to their club obligations we will do our best to place them based on the information we have.
Cost of the program, including approximately 20 hours of on-floor instruction, hotels and food is estimated at $2000.00. Players will have the opportunity to presell an advertising bar for $500 to a sponsor with the entire $500 being used to reduce the registration fee.
Once a player is selected to the team, an initial payment of $1,000 will be required by July 1. Name bar Fee of $500 by July 15 and the remaining $500 by August 1.
You will be responsible for getting your player to the hotel for a 7 pm team meeting on Thursday the 23rd of August. Players will be lodged 2 per room and will be chaperoned by the team volunteers and coaching staff. For players traveling on their own we will transfer them to the hotel as required.
Registration is now open and will close on May 15th.
- Players must register as a runner or goalie, not both.
- Players must be registered and playing for a box lacrosse club team.
- Players may be required to attend more than one try-out camp.
- Due to the timing of the two programs, we will have to ask if you make Team Alberta Midget box we will have to ask you to choose between the two. If you choose not to try out for the Jr Roughnecks after making Team Alberta we will refund your money fully.
- If selected, players and parents are required to sign and adhere to the CDLA Code of Conduct.
- Players are to follow the criteria and rules as set up by the Canadian Lacrosse Association

We invite all female lacrosse players from Novice to Midget to participate in the ALA’s Female Lacrosse Development Day. Spend the day with professional coaches to learn more about the box lacrosse and women’s field lacrosse game. Players will a morning box lacrosse practice, work with Alberta’s U19 field team and then back on the floor for an afternoon controlled box lacrosse scrimmage. The objective of the camp is to provide Alberta’s female lacrosse players with an opportunity to improve their skills, better their overall lacrosse IQ and enjoy the wonderful sport of lacrosse.

ELEV8 Lacrosse is proud to collaborate with NCAA coaches to provide a unique recruiting opportunity for female student-athletes in Western Canada. ELEV8 is driven to help facilitate the growth and direction the Women’s field game and assist female student-athletes who are invested in the process and pursuit of NCAA aspirations.
Training camp direction and instruction is provided by Sonya LaMonica, Head Coach, Towson University, Mike LaMonica, Assistant Coach, Towson University and Danielle Spencer, Head Coach Dartmouth University. EXPtc Girls is open to female student-athletes in the following graduating classes, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
On May 15th the decision will be made on whether the event proceeds as planned based on enrollment numbers. Depending on registration interest ELEV8 Lacrosse will either secure additional NCAA coaches or cancel the event. Register before May 15 to avoid disappointment.

SportzSoft has released it’s new LiveLeague phone App for iPhone and Android Phones (a tablet version will be released at a later date). SportzSoft LiveLeague allows users to quickly find scheduled games and follow live scores and stats for those games. You can also view the scores and stats from past games, and view division standings.
LiveLeague can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play for FREE! Just search for ‘SportzSoft’ and you will see it come up. There are a number of Apps SportzSoft offers, so be sure to pick the ‘LiveLeague’ App.
The first release of this product supports the features listed below. There will be a new release towards the end of the week (May 11, 2018) that will show Team Schedules as well. The current release will allow you to do the following for both CDLA games and RMLL (Jr and Sr) games:
– view scheduled games by day
– view box scores for past games
– view live scores
– view live stats (goals and penalties – names are not shown for CDLA games)
– view game rosters and player stats (names are not shown for team rosters or stats for CDLA games)
– view division standings
